The heroes are summoned by a family member who is concerned after a relative disappeared. The PCs arrive at the town of Klatzen, where they learn of a streak of disappearances that have shaken the residents. Rumors of “Die Greifer” (The Taker) have spread amongst the citizens, who live in terror and many only travel in groups. After some investigation, the heroes realize that the kidnapper is a human whose mother is in possession of an ancient tome with forbidden knowledge for a ritual that promises to grant eternal life!
